I was told by a Dell Sales Mgr. that they removed the snap-on keyboard ( what you are calling a thumbpad ) immediately from the Dell site on Nov. 18th because they had a small supply in-stock, and when they got lots of orders for it ( including mine ) and checked they couldn't get it from the manufacturer.
This was one of the main problems that caused such a FUROR on the Dell Forum Status Board because everyone that ordered this accessory had their entire Axim X5 order put on HOLD but Dell didn't tell them, so lots of people ordering long after that first day were getting their Axim orders while early orderers like myself were still left waiting.
It is my understanding from Dell Sales that this item may be indefinitely OUT OF STOCK ( they are searching for another like product from a different manufacturer to sell in its place ) - so I wouldn't hold out any hopes of anything anytime soon . . .
