Hi, I need to be able to sync my Axim at home and at work but I don't want to spend money on another sync cradle. There is this guy on ebay selling a hotsync/charge cable for pretty cheap. It will be about 12 bucks with shipping. Does anyone use one of those? Since this is not an official Dell cable I am kinda nervous if it could damage my Axim. Any reviews or opinions will be appreciated. Thanks

I haven't tried one yet (since Dell hasn't seen fit to ship my order), but I thought that the deal that this company offers looked pretty good. For ~$25 shipped you get a USB adapter that will charge your Axim, a cigarette lighter adapter so you can charge in the car, and a plug that you can combine with the USB cord to plug into a wall.

looks good but personaly, i wouldn't want any extra voltage running through my mobo considering i have so many devices already hooked up. if you do buy it, make sure your mobo has a temperature monitoring software already on it so you can see if your case is getting to hot. hot case leads to hot cpu.

I wouldn't worry about extra voltage as a problem. USB was designed to be able to do small levels of power transfer. I used a USB sync/power cable on my PC witn my Audiovox Maestro for months with no discernable downside. The Axim will charge more slowly over a USB only cable, but it will charge.

You are right, I love the mini-sync idea. However I ended up just buying this 3 piece charge/sync kit from eBay. For the same price you get the ability to charge from the outlet and in the car. Yes the cord is not as elegant as mini-sync one but I feel that functionalitywise you get more bang for the buck.

I may get the mini-sync too, but first I want a simple sync-n-charge cable that will probably stay at work 90% of the time. So far, the Moonlight Tech cable is the cheapest delivered I have found, any better deals out there?

Buy from ebay from Moonlight Tech

The price is 5.99 + shipping is cheaper than the store price.

I agree. Mini-sync looks like a great product but you really only get a sync cable. And you can use it to charge your Axim only if you have a PC/Laptop around and connected. I got this set on eBay from Moonlight Tech for about $23.00 with shipping and it comes with the wall charger and a car charger as well as USB sync/charge cable. I've been using it at home all the time since I keep my cradle at work. It works great!

I'm in the UK so there's just the Dell Sync cable available at the moment.

I want to order 2 of the HotSync and Charger cables from the EBay store (postage is $8 international but $9.25 for 2).

Does anyone know if I can order 2 of the same items? I only get Quantity = 1 when I try and order!

UPDATE: Just registered on eBay and found a UK eBay Supplier who does a similar cable for £8.99 delivered! "PDA Blaster" is anyone else is interested.
