I don't have a membership card at Costco, but I would like to know what their prices are for Secure Digital cards, 256 MB and 512 MB. Does anyone know? Also, do they carry only Sandisk?
Thanks bigstick509 for your quick response. Yes, I'm aware of the issues with Sandisk SD cards which is why I specifically mentioned them. I just wanted to get an idea of what is considered cheap for SD in Canada. I am hoping to get a new card soon, so I'm just checking around for prices. I would like to avoid purchasing from the U.S. if at all possible but things are so much more here!

u can also check out www.costco.com the prices are the same there (well atleast most of them are)
and i think even non membership holders can buy anything online but with an extra fee ... not sure about this
Unfortunately, costco.com is for U.S. residents. Often, the same product up here will cost more. As well, not all products from the U.S. Costco will be available here.
I don't know about the 512, but the 256 SD is $104.99. I almost bought it, but hesitated because of the know issues with SanDisk. I ended up going to Real Canadian Superstore (Loman's?) here in B.C. and they had 256 Dane-Elec SD's for $95.00. I've had it for about 3 weeks and I haven't had any problems with it.
Not sure what all the hype is about. I have read several posts about Sandisk problems but I have been using them ever since I bought my AX without incedent. I have used them for MP3's, files and maps.:D

Take a look at Factorydirect.ca.
They seems to have good price but I don't recognise the brand from the picture.
$129.99 (plus shipping) for a 256 SD, that's a terrible price. I think I would take my chances with the SanDisk at Costco for $105. If it doesn't work, take it back. Costco will take anything back, no questions asked.
My Costco only sells Scamdisk. They are pretty decent prices and I believe that MOST of the issues were with the 128MB cards, the 256MB cards are apparantly better. I wonder if they'd let you open it to check the country of manufacture?

Even if you couldn't, Costco has a good return policy and would probably let you return it if you said that it didn't work properly (as joop88 explained).

I bought a Sandisk from Costco(Toronto). It developed problems and Sandisk replaced it for me. Working great now.
How did you contact Sandisk? Did you just email them? Thanks.
