Well, I got my card in my greedy little paws! What I did, and it worked great, was to take my order confirmation from the Sears page, print it out, and go into my local store. They had some of the cards on the shelf, so I told them about calling Customer Service, and they said they were having problems with the in-store pick up. I told them I needed the card soon, and the printed info showed I ordered it yesterday, for $99. They gave me the card for $99, and cancelled my order with Sears.com! I am very happy right now.

By the way poppajon, the number on the back of my card is AX0310MU made in China. I am not really worried though, I am going to be using it with my Smartphone not my Ax. I already have 2.2GB for my Ax. I have read that Sandisk is the best card for Smartphone's, so I am happy.

no, but I heard they were supposed to be out this year....the flash memory companies still have twenty-some days left....hopefully they will be available in time for christmas, even though i probably wont be able to afford one til next christmas. the 512 prices are dropping pretty quickly it seems, but I don't know if that really means anything.

I look at the 512mb card in it's little plastic case and just shake my head. Not much longer then two years ago, I don't think the harddrives in any of the computers I owned or used were as large as 512MB!! Hard to believe.......
that's kinda bad, even for two years ago.....heck, even for six years ago....

btw I have an uncle in Brick. You wouldn't happen to know any Billys would you?

Well, I also got the order cancellation notice. I called the customer service line and was placed on an email notification list to find out when any cards become available. The person I spoke to said that she put a note next to my name saying that I was to get the $99 price when I order the card later. She was trying to be elusive and not give any kind of date as to when cards would be available, but she said that some should be shipped to stores later this week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, I didn't do any extensive testing, but watching one Family Guy episode worked fine. Of course people have gone months with the 256 cards before the problems started occuring. We will just have to wait and see.

It turns out they didn't cancel my order when I cancelled my order?! It all worked out for the best though because I was able to get it for a friend who missed out on the deal. Pretty nice.

I've put games, photos, mp3s and books on my 512mb SD Sandisk card and there has been no problems at all.

Sears/SanDisk 512mb SD Card Winners?

I can see that the price of 512 mb SD cards are dropping. But considering that there was no rebate involved, that $99 was an amazing deal!

Just curious: how many of us were able to take home the card from Sears for $99??

Me.......

I got two of them! He he. I am pretty sure it was supposed to be marked at $199. I went in to the store last night, and they had a sign up for the cards stating it was a "Great Price!" at $199.

I picked mine up over the weekend and just opened it. Similar to Ted Mozer's, but mine reads "AX0310MU, China'. Maybe an upgrade from Ted's!?

UPDATE: ok heres my story. as some of you may have realized, they took the 512 SD card off sears.com website. bad for all the people who were told "when they come back in stock, they will honor the sale price", because they are never comming back in stock. they have been discontinued. upon learning this the other day, i became furious. i eventually started calling sears stores around the country until i found one in portland, me. i called sears.com back up and made them ship it to me from portland, me, and even give me a 10% discount for customer satisfaction. long story short, i got the card for $89.99 after alot of b*tching. i just got the card delivered, and guess what. its CORRUPTED! RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. i'm on the phone with Sandisk right now working on getting a replacment. The saga continues.

i didnt want to tell people this until i actually got mine (not that it matters because its broke already) but if your waiting for them to come back in stock dont hold your breath. your probably going to have to do what i did and call around and have one shipped to you. last i checked there were still some left in portland, ME - grand junction, CO - and denver, CO. good luck and let me know what happens!

THANK YOU, POPPAJON!

So I called the Grand Junction, CO store and verified that it was in stock. Then I called Sears.com who, after I complained for about an hour, said that I had to talk to my local Sears store, because they couldn't have anything shipped from one store to another. I finally got through to the local Sears store (I am now sick of Christmas music). They're having it shipped from Colorado and it should be here in a few days. I happily paid the $99 sales price and didn't even try to get the 10% off.

It's already been charged to my credit card, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else goes wrong and that it works when it gets here ...

For others who are still trying, Grand Junction should have one more card in stock (Phone: (970) 245-5857, zip code: 81505).
