Canadian vendors for Axcessories?
Hey fellow canucks...

Ordered my X30 yesterday! Woohoo!

anyone know any good Canadian vendors, online or b&m, that carry axim accessories (axcessories?) I can't seem to find *any*.

I looked into buying a 2000 mah Mugen battery from after5pm.net (a U.S. vendor that ships free to U.S. customers), and they charge $16-24 USD for shipping to Canada. :rolling: Anyone else think it's hard to believe that it costs $16-24 USD MORE to ship something that small and light to a Canadian address?

With shipping, and the inevitable customs charges, plus the aggravation of knowing that if anything goes wrong I may not be covered by a warranty since I'm in Canada, a "hot" deal seems ice cold.

Anyways I'm not just looking for a battery though. Also would like to grab screen protectors and a case. Ideally all from the same vendor if online to reduce shipping costs.

Any tips?

There is a member here named MEF38 who sells Mugen batteries off of eBay. Shipping is quite reasonable from what I remember but ths best thing is that he ships out of Canada so you can avoid any customs fees. Send him a PM and ask if he has any currently up for sale. (I have never ordered from him personally, but am just passing on this info.)

As for screen protectors, I personally use the Brando ones. I believe shipping is the same for U.S. or Canada when ordered from Brando's Hong Kong site.

Good tip on MEF38, I will indeed PM him, thanks! I'll check out those screen protectors too.

Anyone else with any suggestions? How about for cases?

I'm especially interested in B&M places for cases, I like to actually see and feel stuff like that before purchasing. I realize it's pretty unlikely though.

I don't think you will find any B&M places that will carry Axim cases. The best suggestion I can make is to try Aximcases.com. Apparently, they have good customer service and do their best to minimize excessive fees to Canada. Again, I have personally never ordered from them, but from what I have heard, they should be fine.

Just go to Ebay and do a search for seller MEF38. The mugen 2000's are 49.99 and I think it was 4.99 shipping (US dollars).

I just ordered my axim yesterday, so I'm going to order a battery from him as well.

Gromitlad,

I know exactly what you mean about not getting great service in Canada. I do sell on eBay the Mugen batteries and they do ship from Canada. You can PM me or go to Ebay Canada Auction and see what I'm selling.

I hope that I can be of service.

Actually, you've already been of service, I ordered a 2000 mah Mugen from you on the weekend (as kungfupingu) and received it yesterday! Woohoo! Thanks! That was my first eBay transaction ever, and it was about as easy as it could get!

Oh and in addition to the battery I took your advice and ordered these screen protectors also. Hope those will get here before my Axim does!

Turns out, that even as I was posting, my Brando screen protector was waiting for me at home! I also got a couple of metal stylii and a retractable sync/charge cable, and they all arrived at once (though in 2 packages). Ordered on Sunday May 30th, arrived in my mailbox on Friday June 5. Not bad at all for Hong Kong - Canada! And that was for a shipping cost of only $3 (for the whole order). Very good recommendation, thanks Gigi.

Now I just need the Axim!

hey folks,

tigerdirect.ca is pretty good.......they don't have a lot of accessories, but there are a few, and they're pretty cheap.

I bought a Belkin 15 in 1 card reader, a universal rugged case (made by otter cases in usa!), and a linksys 4port external usb hub to expand my measly 4 usb ports on my mobo. I got them all at directdial online. That's http://www.directdial.com/ca/shop/. I also got my atp 60x 512MB sd card from futureshop locally in montreal. You pay more than you would on ebay but I can walk over and return it if need be. worth the difference for the convenience. plus I got no interest for 3 months so I don't need to pay till after xmas. phew cause it's adding up bavee. My gf's gonna be mad when I take her for burgers instead of steaks!but I love you babeeeee...
