Cruzer Portable USB Drive with FREE 256MB SD Card

Just ordered the Cruzer Portable USB Drive with FREE 256MB SD Card from ecost.com. There was only 42 left out of 100 being sold at that price. Not only will it work with my Axim but I can transfer files from my desktop and laptop to my Axim without having to play with cables. Now I need to find a ifrared system for my desktop. My motherboard doesnt support infrared. Need a slip in pci card. Anyone got any ideas?

Am I missing something here? Isn't it just an expensive memory card reader?

What does this thing do that a card reader doesn't do?

Thanks,
Dave

The point is you get the Cruzer AND the 256MB SD card for US$69
(Now if it just weren't a Sandisk with all there reliability problems...)

Duh!

I guess that is a good deal. It just wasn't registering that the memory came with it.

I was getting the impression it was some kind of hard drive or something.

Thanks!

I think a small portable card reader and free shipping was well worth the 69 dollars. I just wanted the 256 meg sd card. We all look for bargains and the bang for our bucks. If the sandisk card works as it is supposed to then it will be well worth the investment. You can never have too many memory cards anyway. Just about everything electronic out there today can make use of them when it comes to computers or digital photography.

I'm afraid to order Sandisk anything because of all the problems I have read on here and on other sites. It sounds Lexar is the only SD memory that you can be certain will work with your Axim.

I have had TWO of the 256 meg cards with NO problems. Is all this talk about bad memory chips been addressed to the mfg? If they sold 3 million of these and 10 people have problems that is not that big of a problem.

Sandisk no problems

I've had no problems so far with mine(knock on wood). Sandisk has a two year warranty so I am not worried if anything happens to the card.

Cruzer Info

Here is information straight from Sandisk about this device. Basically it can take the place of Floppies or other media.
BTW even if the Cruzer sucks, the SD card deal was too good to pass up

What is the Cruzer?
The SanDisk Cruzer is the world's first portable, pocket-size storage device with upgradeable flash memory. Its stylish, compact design can be slipped into a pocket or purse for easy transport of personal computer data files, image files, video and audio between homes, offices or any other location where one would want to transfer personal files and information.

The Cruzer fills a void in the portable storage market that neither floppy disks nor CDs can address. The all-in-one unit plugs directly into the industry-standard USB port that is built into desktop PCs and without any additional components necessary. It's powered right from the USB port!

The Cruzer is created for today's active, on-the-go lifestyle.

Advanced Features:

Compact size; about three inches long, one and three-fourth inches wide and about three-quarters of an inch thick
Fully compatible with both PCs and Macintoshes
Unique, slick, highly ergonomic design
Security feature available to protect your data when on the go
Operating System Compatibility:

Compatible with Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP and Macintosh OS 9.1+ & OS X, v.10.1.2+

Thanks for the heads up! I recieved my Axim 2 weeks ago and was looking for more storage. I just ordered the SanDisk Cruzer. I love that the Axim plays mp3s; now I can store more than 2 at a time.
