PQI 1 GB SD card $79 AR at Fry's
For those of you who live near a Fry's...I believe the PQI 1 GB SD card is on sale this weekend for $79 after rebate--$109-$30 mail-in rebate=$79.

Is the PQI just as good and/or compatible w/ the X30 as the Kingmax SD card? If so, then for $79 AR it's hard to pass up...

That's a good deal too...unfortunately I already bought an X30. I did see that the Sandisk being offered at Dell is not the Ultra-II one--i.e., it is the "slow" one. I dunno how fast the Axim X30 can read an SD card but I can say that the non-Ultra-II Sandisk SD cards are pretty slow; I have a 256 MB Sandisk SD in my iQue 3600 loaded with GPS-related data and it takes forever for the GPS find utility to search for POIs and/or read maps from the card. Anecdotes have shown that Panasonic-made (either Panny-branded or by some other company) SD cards have consistently rated much faster than the Sandisk non-Ultra-II cards.

I've been looking for some sort of benchmark of available 1GB SD cards before I bite it and purchase one, and I haven't been able to find a reliable comparison. All I find is wildly differing numbers on different sites. Anyone know a good place to find such a comparo? Thanks!

There was a thread on this at PocketPCThoughts that had some differences in the card speed. Do a quick search over there and it should turn up. :)

There a nice comparison of the KingMax vs the SanDisk here: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?p=363805#post363805

KingMax seems to show superior performance that may show up when playing video or high bitrate MP3 files.
