Axim Cases in the UK
OK, I'd thought I'd start this off by opening a thread on Cases in the UK. (Or available to the UK.)

I'm looking for suppliers that can supply cases to the UK without having to pay massive shipping costs. ($20-$30).

See this link for a full list of available cases. HERE

I'd love to find a Sena or the Vaja supplier.

The Piel Frama case (See HERE ) is 60 euros including delivery (approx £41.12)

The Belkin (see HERE ) will be available from PCWorld Dabs.com Staples when it's released. (Currently $39.95)

If you've any other informartion, or experiences on suppliers to the UK, please post here.

(Many thanks to kneese for the links, taken from his thread)

Grim,

Check out www.thepocketsolution.com.

I know they are looking for distributors in your neck of the woods to supply the European community with Pda accessories. You can get their contact information from their site. I have had great success with this company and want to see them expand into the European Community.

Regards,

Felix

OK I've bought THIS case from ebcases.

There's been some good write-ups on this site about it.

Cost me $36.95 + $10 carriage, and is available ex-stock.

Works out at about £30 all in.

Will let y'all know when it arrives. :D

Proporta case
Ordered a proporta aluminium case about 5 days ago. Received my "neoprene while you wait" case today, and on enquiry was told to expect a two week wait (hopefully!) before the alu case is shipped. Will let you guys know what the verdict is when it plops on my mat.

Anyone know if there are any suppliers of the Covertec case in the UK. I've asked Expansys but they say they have no plans to stock it at present. To order it directly from Covertec is £30.75 + £8.22 shipping.

OK guys, I've been waiting patiently for my EBcase, even though I got an email confirming it was despatched on the 13 March.

I got this email this morning..

Added security I guess because of the war. :hide:

I guess I gotta wait.

Finally got my EBCase this morning. 2nd April.

Posted on 27th March, so not too bad. I did order it on 10th March, though.

The hold up I'm told (See my previous post) was due to increased US Post restrictions, because of the war.

All in it cost me £30, and its a nice case.

No tax V.A.T. or customs duty to worry about as it's under $54 dollars in value.

Anyone else who sources or finds an Axim case in the UK, please post here.

Now all I need is a wireless CF card :D

I got my Sena case on Friday, took about a month all in but they were initially on backorder. I had an EB case for my ipaq and this thing beats it hands down in terms of quality and fit. The leather is nicer, the slots are great (I can stash a CF card in the flip section without it pressing on the screen at all) so overall I'm very happy with it. I can't say how it compares to the others, Piel Frama, Vaja, Krusell etc but at an all-in price of around £35 it gets the Beerglass seal of approval (tm). ;)

Proporta case
Well guys (and gals), my Proporta aluminium case arrived on Saturday, and I'm quite impressed with it. Perhaps needs some additional friction type material down the edges to make it more secure when you hold it, but other than that it's a very nicely manufactured piece of kit. The neoprene case provided while waiting for the aluminium one to arrive will definitely come in useful when I want a bit more shock absorption too!

Big thumbs up

Mark

The guy who I got my Brando screen protector off on Ebay has told me that he will be stocking Proporta / Innopocket Aluminium cases for the Axim on Ebay Next Friday

he has told me that the cost will be be £25 inc P&P - a bit dearer than his Clie and iPAQ Aluminium cases on Ebay. This is because
Proporta have got some exclusive distribution deal in the UK which means his regular supplier cant sell them to him.

You can check out his ebay store Here.

The only affiliation I have with him is that he sold me a brando and his service was second to none.

Hope that helps some, I most proably will get one.

Krusell case in UK
You may wish to check out 3elimited.com.

They sell various pda cases and in particular, the Krusell case for the Axim (£18.72+VAT). The web site says allow for 28 days for delivery. However, I emailed the company last night and got a reply this morning saying that they can ship the case "now". I decided to go for it and have just ordered two different belt clips at the same time. All in all, it cost £30.47 for the whole lot (black leather case + slide swivel + spring clip, and delivery at £1.54+VAT).

Will post again upon arrival of the package, or other news from the company if earlier.

Well I got the aluminium case I spoke of earlier in the thread last week. It's quite nice but it seems bigger than I thought it would be (maybe 'cause it's shiny etc)

Protects the axim well, but I have had a couple of slippy moments with sweaty hands so maybe it might be wise to place a bit of cloth tape on the sides (there are dimples there, but not realy 'sharp' enough to grip sufficiently in sweaty hand syndrome!)

All in all a good deal, next day delivered from a trusted source (this is the third item I have bought from this guy on eBay).

Hope that helps!
