Computer Geeks.com now carries the X5 300 for $148.50 and 400 for $199.95(refurbised)
300MHz basic:

400MHz Advanced:

Looks like they include everything Dell normally does, just that these are "Factory Reconditioned" and only 90 day warranty.

I've bought from them many times, good experience.

Keep in mind they're liquidation/overstock company, so don't expect to return for something trivial, such as it having a "mushy D-Pad". Now dead, or the touch screen not working should be no trouble getting another unit.

Hey cool, they have some accessories for it to, including the folding keyboard for $78...

Glad I waited. I was trying to get the Axim 300 for under $200. I came to a point today where I was going to say the heck with it and order the Ax 300 from Dell. I could care less if its refurbished. hehehehehehehe. Welcome me to the Axim fold.

so...what does everyone think about the 90 day warranty. is this sufficient? have there been enough problems with axims or should 90 days present most of the problems that are going to surface? i'm a little leary despite the fact that i want to get into an ax as cheaply as possible.

any one besides Jwilker had good success with the refurbs from compgeeks?

also, i see the 300 is not available.

there only 72 of the 400s as of 9pm PST. (there were >160 at 5:30pst). you can see how many are available by adding 999 to your cart. it will tell you how many are available.

About a month ago I ordered a refurbed Kodak digital camera from Comp Geeks. Everything with the camera, software, and cables were fine and overall a good first experience. Prior to that, I had seen the site before and was very leary about ordering things from them because they were either refurbed or used. Now, I don't see it as a problem.

I lost out the first time they had these in stock because I wanted to do a lot of research on the Axim. By the time I made my decision, they were all sold out.

Oh and I just remembered I did a return with them once too. I don't remember having any problem. The return was a piece of junk internal modem by Intel. It wasn't CGs fault, it was Intel.

i don't have a problem with compgeeks, i'm more worried that the 90 day warranty for the ax isn't sufficient. i've ordered several lower doller items from compgeeks and have had just minor problems.

i guess i'm looking more for comments on the quality of the refurb axims here and not a commentary on compgeeks themselves.

Why don't you email or call Dell and find out if you can purchase a warranty from them?
