I just received my confirmation e-mail from Dell. My new order has been placed (Axim 400) and I saved $172.50 Canadian (Approx $119 US). Pretty good deal for trying something that wasn't going to happen.
Too bad others missed the "boat" on this deal!

certianly was, dell just sent out emails for a $150 discount for anyone who ordered one...
Lemme get this right - folks ordered one at a ridiculously low price - only for Canadians. Dell notices, issues notice, and credits/cancels all the orders - then sends those folks a coupon for $150 off???
I ordered another Axim 400 on Saturday - TODAY they have $40 off and I can't get the SOB's to even credit me the $40 difference even though I threatened to cancel the order, refuse delivery and order another one!
I can see why people complain about Dell customer service - beyond the simple they are pretty useless.
You actually had to be in Canada to get the $150. They pay more than US to start with so this is good for them!!!
I ordered one for my husband last week and did get the $40 off so would recommend trying sales people instead of csr.

Don't get me wrong - I never whine about someone elses fortune. I'm just PO'd that even at a department store I can get price matching if they put an item on sale within a reasonable amount of time. This is more like playing a Dell Lotto. Depending on when you call, who you call, where you go on the web page, what secret handshake codes you know to put in at the time of the order determines what you get and for how much. That's a pretty poor way to run a business IMHO. I mean c'mon - I'm supposed to have a corporate discount as the company I work for is very large and has an agreement with Dell for all of our systems. Not for the Axim - sorry (this is what I was told when I ordered from a human on Saturday). No discounts, but wait we had a free 64 mb CF card - nope they changed that to a silly car charger cable with free shipping. What? You need 2nd day as you are going out of town? Sorry no free shipping - can't adjust the charges.
Then Monday I find out there is a $40 off code. Someone else said that was in addition to a 10% price break. Grrrrrrr! Dell should put it up front and stop with the easter egg hunt!
I totally agree with you on this one you could not breathe until you turn green and they would still be this way. I have found the cheapest way to order is online because sales give you a different price and the price is subject to change on a daily or hourly basis. Also we do not get a coorporate discount but it is nice you don't have to belong to a coorporation to get the Axim reasonable. I had not heard of the coupon I just got the 10% with free shipping and memory upgrade.
My husband is excited because this one he gets the first one came to me!
I am anticipating if ups keeps going we will have it by easter.

Could all these price drops mean that they are trying to get rid of some stock to make room for new models that they are secretly coming out with and won't reveal it until end of this summer or end of this year?
W/ technology now-a-days, why not?

Man are those folks bone-headed! The reason I did not get a discount was because I asked - ASKED mind you - if I qualified for any employee discount. Turns out that's a whole 'nother division and they don't talk to the web folks or the home folks on what the price is. So I got mine for list just because I asked the wrong question. Not only that but I even got to the "customer priority response team" from my complaining and they told me that the only person that could do any adjustments to my order would be the guy that took the order. You gotta be kidding! If Michael Dell doesn't fix this mess his house of cards will surely tumble soon...
You will love it!!!
My husband got his yesterday it only took one week to deliver. They sure have speeded up the process since I got mine. Mine took three weeks.
Now you can spend easter just setting by the box wishing they delivered on teh weekend:D

i got to play with my friends axim today....its got the 255 and A02...i messed with it for about 2 hours with the backlight on full and it only drained about 10% of the battery....pretty sweet.....i can see what everyone is saying about the nav pad though.....but i think its just a matter of learning to use it right...pressing on the edge of it sometimes felt mushy, but if you pressed in either direction with your finger in the middle, it gave a solid click in each direction....its much like the nav pad on my canon S40....initially seems bad, but once you get used to using it, its fine....
also, i noticed a thread about dell using duller screens, well with the brightness on full with my freinds, it was absolutly beautiful and super bright....i cant wait to get mine....ive got lots of apps and games ready to go...
