I hate that company now. All they do is send me spam! I tell them to stop but they dont. I saw a laptop I wanted, and they screwed it up too. Terrible scam company.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I have bought several items from eCost and have NEVER had any problems with service. They have always contacted with any problems and have always come through with excellent service. On a related note, I have NEVER received a single email not related to the order placed. I do however get small catalogs in the US mail from them. To call them a scam company is incorrect, and quite frankly borders on slander. If missing out on an obviously incorrect price on a memory card is the worst thing that happens to you this year you're ahead of the game. A dear friend of mine had his mother die and another has a brother dying of cancer. Let it go for goodness sake and get a life!

This thread was started 04-05-05. You are not going to get it for $6.70. Current price is $73.94 after rebate.

e-cost sucks, they cancelled my 2gb sd that I was waiting for, for 6 months! However Sandisk said this would be normal since the 2 gigs would only be really largely available in July. I called e-cost and they had said that I was never even on the waiting list :realmad: :realmad: :realmad:

imo ecost sucks\

EDIT: ... they're selling a 128 mb sd card for $0.00 after rebates...how can you give away sd cards???

Just some observations on my part.

First - they call themselves 'eCost.com'. As if to imply that they sell their products at 'cost'. They wouldn't exist if that was the case and of course immediately indicates to me that they think consumers are idiots. I don't do business with companies that assume I'm an idiot

Second - you can use websites like resellerratings.com to check out a company before placing an order. eCost's rating is 5.43 (Lifetime) and 3.38 (6 Month Rating) on a scale of 10. Would you buy from an eBay member with a 50% positive rating? I doubt it.

Great deals are few and far between - but too good to be true is usually just that. Whether the result of an honest glitch, error or mistake, or as a distasteful method of marketing it's still deflating and dissapointing to see such companies in business. The beauty is that eventually they will put themselves out of business :approve:

It is your own assumptions that associate their name with the price they would sell items at, and nothing more. Do you base this assumption on anything other than their name? Is there any other evidence you can provide that this is the reason for their name?

Not a valid argument. Comparing the ratings on ebay and resellerratings is not an equivilent match. In relation to ebay, a large number of people who review sites on resellerratings do so because they were not happy with the company. While on ebay a vast number of overall buyers/sellers enter their review regardless of their pleasure/displeasure. resellerratings will therefore not provide an accurate account of a sites true performance.

I agree that too good to be true usually is. If such a mistake is dissapointing to you then maybe you have never made a mistake. It is simply human error. We all make errors. If they made several, then I would have a lower opinion of them. But, a single error is not worth forming an opinion over.

These are just MY thoughts.
