So far I like the English Heritage Bundle for PocketPC
Does anyone have any other Ideas? What do you use?

I'm using Encarta Pocket Dictionary. Although at times I find it slow, is this a problem with anyone else??

I love Lectionary (www.revolution.cx). Check it out and let me know what you think compared to English Heritage Bundle.
This is a nice one for installing in Flash, if you have the 400 MHz, or on a memory card. 8 Mbytes!

Wow, Lextionary is fantastic! I think that's the one for me. Thanks for the tip.

I'll throw another one out for you guys, Quick Lookup.
I use this one because I can have several different types of dictionaries and thesaurus. Quick Lookup uses the mxd extention for its dictionaries. You can also make your own reference files. I currently have 10 installed. A good dictionary, thesaurus, English to German, German to English, King James Bible, blah blah blah.
Doesn't hurt to try them all before plunking down the scratch!

For PaulG: I'm also using Encarta Pocket Dictionary and find it to be somewhat slow. Have English, English/Spanish, Spanish/English --- they are rather slow as well.
For me, it's the slowest app I have on the Ax. Perhaps the slowness results from the required interface with Microsoft Reader...can't think of any other reason.
--------
For phxflyboy: Download Encarta Pocket dictionary at http://www.microsoft.com/reader/downloads/...ictionaries.asp --- Free download, just open Microsoft Reader and the dictionary will appear as a selection.
I've also noted that the word definitions are short (this is DEFINITELY an abridged dictionary) but when the doggone thing is free I can deal with it as well as the slowness.
Mike

Mike,
Every time I click on the link at that site it just opens the dictionary up on my desktop. I can't find an option to send it to my Axim. Any suggestions?

phxflyboy -- Try the MS Reader home page, http://www.microsoft.com/reader/default.asp then at the left sideof the page, hover your mouse over DOWNLOADS. In the resulting pop-up menu, go down to dictionaries and click. The next page will have all the dictionaries available, click on 'download' for the one you want. I tried it just now and it worked for me. ;)

Encarta's dictionary isn't really used for everyday lookup, since MS-Reader wasn't designed for database retrieval like a dedicated dictionary. So using 'find' in MS-Reader really sux! Sometimes it takes up to a minute to find something! On the other hand, when you're reading a book in MS-Reader, highlighting the word and click 'lookup' would bring up the definition real quick -- which is what the encarta dictionary is really for, looking up definitions in ebooks of lit format.
For those who doesn't want to buy Lextionary, there's an alternative -- since Lextionary's lexicons are based on Princeton's "WordNet" - just get TomeRaider (it has tonnes of database for free download! ie: encyclopaedias, reference text, etc..) or other eBook readers, and download a compatible format of "WordNet Max". I have compared the definitions of both, and they are identical! Of course, Lexicon has some really nice features built-in... for a price tho =)

Also another alternative is to get specifice industry dictionaries free on Handango. Dictionaries of investment terms, real estate terms, medical terms and there are about 10-15 more industry specific term dictionaries as well. Good luck Emonair.

Thanks, guys. Neither of your suggestions work though. Every time I click on it, it just opens the dictionary on my desktop after saving it somewhere. Well, I dug around, found where it was saved and moved it to the Axim. All's working well now. Thanks again!
