Thanks for the tip, alias..

I'm just returning a Kingston CF card that is made in Japan, and does not work with my x50v !!
Does anyone know if this Viking CF card is made in Japan also, or if it works with the x50v ??

The rebate offer ends at midnight tonite, so I need to make my decision sometime today !!

Any help / info is appreciated !! :approve:

ive actually read a lot of bad reviews about the viking - thats why im going to stay away from all of their products - ive read the same thing about the 512 mb and the 1 gb cards - basically - after a little use - the card becomes corrupted and a lot of people are unable to use them at all (even after formatting them) - they have to be sent back to viking for an exchange

even if they send you another one free of charge - the hassle is just not worth it - especially if you have to re-install everything on the card - or worse yet - lose something thats irreplacable - like photos or something of that nature

I've rarely heard of cerain cards that won't work. I might even suggest to start a thread like "Do you have a problem with your Viking card and Axim?"

As for Kingston, I've had a 256MB SD card by them for about 2 years or more and have never had a problem with it in any of my PPCs or digital camera.

I think I came across a couple of complaints about the Kingston CF cards having problems with x50v. But no complaints of the Kingston SD card. So my guess is maybe keep away from Kingston CFs?

I wouldn't worry about anything unless a lot of people are complaining about a certain card or nobody has got one that works fine with whatever specific device. Just me...
