If I'm not mistaken I heard once that there are only a handfull of actual SD card manufacturers in the world and that these cards are bought wholesale and labeled differently but whatever company buys them. If this is true, then the quality of the EP card would be identical to the rest of the cards the manufact. makes. Now, if we only knew who made them....

As far as ECost.com goes, I have had good luck with them in the past. The very first time I used them was from a refernce on this website. I order a ton of stuff for my then brand new X3i, including a very large (for that time) CF card. I know, X3i's don't have a CF card slot, but I was caught up in the prices I found at the time.

When I recieved my order and my Axim, I realized I couldn't use it. Anticapting a problem returning it, I tried everyone I knew, but no one could use this CF card (didn't have equipment for it, larger than what they would use,etc etc...) So I called them. Customer service was very helpful, and they even had me fax my shipping reciept back to them, and upon receiving the CF card back, they promptly returned to my credit card the price of the card, the handling fee, and my shipping that I paid to sent back to them. That impressed me. I have used them for several things since then.

As far as rebates, I have only had one time that I never received my rebate, and I was taking a chance with a compnay that I had not heard of before (Syntax) for a card reader and some other small thing. Needless to say, that manufacturer can count on getting NONE of my buisness in the future. For rebates I stick with companies I know and trust.

For us Canadians north of the border, US based MIRs (Mail-In Rebates) seem to be a wasted of time, and effort...
