Well, I figure that if I return the Axim, I'll get a 15% penalty, but I still save 100$ out of buying another one. So, if I get more, I consider it's a good deal... Well, I called and here's the full story.
Call placed at Dell CC, in french (since I'm native french speaking, it's easier for me to yell in french  :twak: )!
First, it started with a usual <<We can not garantee price from weeks to weeks...>>. After a minute or 2, the person (which I'll simple reffer to as 'CC' in this message) told me that the x50v was still at 599 after checking the site. I checked and told CC <<no, it's 454 in the site, with WM5 CD>>. After some verification, I found out that the french version of Dell site was still at 599. The did not even updated their french site (to tell you how they really care about their non-english cousins!). Anyway, I always went through the site using the english version (and ordered english Axim!). Well, 10 seconds after I told CC to look at the english version of the site, CC put me on hold to check (presumably) with it's suppervisor.
Then, and after saying that I was ready to not pick-up the order at delivery (at postal office actually because I'm not home to receive the package), CC told me that he was ready to give me a printer... wtf , I don't need a printer (I actually have a good laser printer and a color deskjet inkjet printer at home), and also told that this wasn't even comming with WM5 pre-order. After some :argue:, CC was ready to credit me 100$, still no WM5 CD.
For the CD, I :argue: and after putting me on hold, CC told me textually <<I talked with someone here and you can not upgrade your OS so the CD is not for you... >>. Then, :argue: and :argue: and again <<I talked to 2 person now and no, you can not have it, it's not compatible, you can not change an OS, ..., ... no-go>>
:rant2: :icon_lame
Well, this really look like a bunch of Radio-Scrap wannaby techies over there... (Which I really have some true stories based on real facts about Radio-Scrap, but that's another story...)
Well, CC said, can't give more that 100$, but after some more :argue:, ok for 125$ :)
So, in the end, I save more that if I would have returned the unit (considering 15% return penalty), and I can order the CD from the site directly, or even better (and I think they really DESERVE it), grab it in some obscure ways when it come out . This way, I will have saved 175$ (and more if you consider the tax, S&H, ... for that CD). :chair:
Thanks for helping me. Now, after checking puro, order arrived at home, <<Attempted Delivery - Receiver Unavailable>>. I suspect that it will be left at postal service point tomorrow. I simply can't wait to get my x50v .
