Hi guys, I was looking to purchase a PDA and someone recommended an AXIM, which prompted a few searches and google and voila! this site came up.

I was wondering where you good folks in Canada (Toronto specifically) purchased yours. I'm a fan of small vendors, due in large part to their more down-to-earth prices. I've checked Dell.ca and their cheapest config. was $375. Could it be had for less than that elsewhere?

Actually, Dell is one of the only places you can get an Axim. Dell decided not to have a middle man, such as a Circut City or Best Buy, so they can provide the Axim for cheaper. The only other places I have seen the Axim is on ebay, which really isn't that good a deal, and at [url]www.compgeeks.com[/url] They have really good deals on the Axim, but I don't know what the shipping and such would be like to Canada, or if they even ship to Canada.

Dell.ca is the only place that currently has them.
Add $25 for shipping
Add 15% for Jean's and Ernie's cut

A few people did get them from the shopping channel, but in the early days.

You could also check the classifieds on this site, or ebay.

The downside to getting from Dell, is that it costs some $80 to send it back if you decide you don't like it.

Personally, I'm happy I got mine. The palm people in my office are jealous.

There's somebody selling on ebay.ca a nice package including the 300mhz Axim, wireless cf card, wireless router, a 128mb SD card, and the hard case (probably innopocket).
The bid is currently at $441 but the package would cost someone $600 or more if bought seperately. Not that I'm promoting his product or anything.
Since he's selling in Canada you won't have to worry about extra charges or taxes. Just the $25 US for shipping.

I saw that bid before. It looks like a Rhino skin case and the item is sold AS IS though he said it's been tested to be working, I still don't like to gamble.

I got mine when Dell offered $150 off the 400mhz version after the pricing error on their website. Glad I did it. :)

Damn you all that got your axims for $150 less, my friend got the same deal, but no I had to be the smart ass and say "no I am not going to purchase this becasue I know that there is a mistake." Well needless to say I pay the full price to get mine anyways, I am such an idiot. :(

I got it cheap to, but still the difference is to big don't you think.

of course, due an error dell made, i received 4 axims, have send two of them back and kept one:) :) :D :) :)

I got lucky and got mine from ebay. The seller only had it for 2 days when she decided to go back to Palm. I got a 400 Mhz Axim in the original Dell box with all the manuals cables, cradle and plastic bags it came in. She even included a 128MB SD card. worked out to be around $500.00 CDN.

Was able to transfer the warranty to my name. Works fine..have not had any of the technical or hardware difficulties posted in this forum...except with a minor active sync troubles....so far so good.
