In the fine print it clearly states that the item cannot be returned. The items are tested, though.

Things like that don't bother me, but some people do like the security of being able to return items.

Kitehog - what wireless card are you using with this router? Any compatiability issues?

I have a Netgear Cable router and a Netgear MA701. (Anyone see the missing link in this scenario? :blush: )

My question is can I link my existing router with this FMI router so I can really use my MA701?

drop- I tried to link the wifi router in with my linksys router and I could not get it to function right.
I could surf the net over the WIFI connection but could not access my desktop PC. Im sure I could of got it to work but I did not spend much time trying to I just swapped the wireless with the old one and was up and running in no time.

cmcFilms - I have the Netgear MA701. I got it from Circuit City price matched Office Depot at 59.95 + $30 MIR.

Now I need to find a deal on a card for my laptop !!

Any one want to swap a linksys 4 port router for a wireless PCMIA card??

I have a quick question about this router. I have never really worked with wifi at all, so I don't know much about it. Can this hook up to my cable modem, and then I can get internet access via my laptop with a pcmcia card, or do I have to have it hooked up to a computer, or what? Thanks.

Yes, this thing will hook up to your cable modem and broadcast a wireless signal to any wireless devices. Meanwhile, you can hardwire up to 4 computers to the back of it.
Is that what you are asking? Sorry if it's not.

Other than this router...what other "stuff" do I need to hook-up to the internet from my Axim ?

yes its possible to use this wireless router, but you will probably need a wireless pci or usb card for your computer, and a wireless compactflash card for the axim

This router has 4 built-in ports for desktops. You dont need a wireless pci/usb card....:rolleyes:

here is everyting you need:
1) broadband connection
2) broadband connection's modem
3) this CompUSA wireless router
4) a 10/100 network card for your desktop (built-in on newer desktops)
5) a wifi CF card for your Ax.


The wireless router connects to the broadband modem, and the desktop connects to the back of the wireless router.
