256mb SD Card and yes, it's a SanDisk
Futureshop is currently selling the 256mb SD card for $111.99. I know it's a SanDisk and I'm sure many of you will warn everyone but it's still not a bad price.
I haven't had any problems with my SanDisk CD card.

Are you sure it's a 256mg card, because that's a really high price if it is! I just got a 256mg Lexar for $47 after rebate from Buy.com.:)

SRGilbert,

I don't know if you noticed but this is Hot Deals in Canada. The operative word being Canada. I know there are great deals in US, I've seen the Lexar's with $20 rebates from various US websites but in Canada, that doesn't apply.
Also, don't forget, we have our own Canadian currency. It's not worth as much as the american currency but it's what we use.

Just to let you know...Costco will be selling the 256MB Sandisk SD card soon for $109 with an $18 instant off coupon. The operative word is soon. I'm not sure of the exact date yet, but my friend (who is a Costco employee) has informed me of it. So keep your eyes peeled :crooked:

Haemar,

Is that $109 BEFORE the $18 off or after? The wording could go either way there and I just want to be clear.

Thanks,
Rob

That's $109 plus tax. At the counter they'll take off $18 from that so the total will be $106.81 all said and done (figuring in my BC taxes and GST). Considering I paid about $165 (taxes in) back in Feb, that's pretty good.:D

FYI

i have a 256mb sd card from san disk. it has been great. no problems at all. i use my 1 gb microdirve for movies and music. considering that all my programs are running from the sd card, and my media is coming from the cf slot, i have had no problems at all. speed is great. i would buy another san disk, no questions asked. besides, san disk now does oem for sony and other companies. yup memory stick isn't made by sony anymore.

good luck

I just bought a 256MB SD card from Staples for $104.95! ($139.95 with $35 coupon). This was BEFORE my mail in rebate (sorry can't remember the $value of the rebate).

Costco is not competitive on this. I've found that they do not keep up with prices like Staples/FutureShop do. If you've been watching the prices on flash media cards....they're dropping!

Any deals on a multi-card reader? I have problems with my SanDisk SD card and I read on many forums that using a reader would help.

What Staples...it doesn't show online. How much was the mail in rebate? Where did you get the coupon?

Very correct....Costco doesn't price match things. They usually buy in bulk and sell alittle cheaper. However, I've found that I can usually beat their prices if I shop around. What I'm saying is that in early June (I'll get the actual date today and post later) their will be a coupon from Costco you can use to lower the price to the cheapest I've found (at least in Canada:sad: ). And for that I don't mind waiting. :D

Dell has 10% online and free ship.
Hi guys

Dell has 10% discount on 256M SD card (109*0.9=98.10) and free ship.

I order a wireless card and 256M SD card, total 225.63 (ON:GST+PST).

I think it is not a price error again.

The date of the Costco sale (coupon) is June 2. It should be lasting for 2 weeks. So the price should be $109 (plus taxes - $18). I believe I posted earlier that it'll come to $107 (approx.). Anyhow, I plan on picking one up (and yes, it's a Sandisk...but I'm not having problems with the one I have now so I'll buy another).;)

I picked up one of the Sandisk 256 meg cards from Costco today. Interesting thing though...

The product ID on the back of the package (which is huge for the size of the card) is sdsdb-256-850. I walked across the street to Future Shop, and they sell a Sandisk with product id sdsdb-256-781.

Does anyone know what the difference would be between the two cards? They are same capacity, same make, etc. Based on past experience, I would expect Future Shop to sell the newer card. I did discover that Future Shop would not price-match Costco. Apparently, they don't price-match against an in-store coupon.
