Can someone tell me if the synch cable with the 300MHz version is also capable of properly recharging your battery? If so How long does it normally take. This question comes from someone whoe doesn't have a axim.

No. The sync cable is just for comm, and the charger has a seperate jack/plug. And you don't have to use both at the same time unless you want to.
The sync cable is a nice tight fit, but it doesn't have any kind of lock or clasp to hold it in place securely.
I have both cradle and cable, and I prefer to use the cable when I'm moving files around, constantly picking up the ax. The dock is heavy and harder to hold.
