Difference between X7501 and X7500 ?

Maybe I'm a bit thick, I'm sure there are some here that would agree with that, but I can't see what the difference is between the X7500 and the X7501 apart from the OS.
It seems to me the X7500 runs WM5 and the X7501 runs WM6
Are there any other differences?

Hey Box. I think, but I'm not 100% sure, that the 7501 has a camera on the rear and the 7500 may have a second camera facing the user.

I ask because I have an option to buy a slightly used 7500 for 280GBP and I was wondering if it was the less useful little brother or just slightly different.

Yes, the camera position is one difference. The other, as you mentioned, is that the X7500 comes with WM5, whereas the X7501 comes with WM6. However, as of August of 2007, HTC I believe released a WM6 ROM update for the X7500, and the filename for this is RUU_Athena_HTC_WWE_2.21.405

From what I've been able to scour off the web, it doesn't appear as though there are any significant differences between the two from a performance standpoint.

Thanks Breley, I read you link, but I'm still not quite getting it.
If you do the WM6 upgrade, do you then have basically the same device? apart from the camera?

I think you would have the same device except for the camera. Here is a comparison I made for you taking stuff from the HTC site: (it's the attached file 7501.txt) They are identical except for the second cam on the 7500 and the operating system, which you can upgrade at no charge.

I had those same two pages side by side earlier and I guess that is what had me confused, I really couldn't see any difference apart from the OS and if you can easily upgrade to WM6 it should be pretty much the same thing.
I guess it's looking like a pretty good deal then.

Yes, I think your offer sounds pretty decent. I'd jump on it if I didn't have the X7501 already. They're both very nice devices.

At todays exchange rate, it would have been 546.17USD
But, I thought about it too long and missed it.
