Possibly Stupid MobSync Question
Well, probably stupid.

I have been using MobSync to sync files on the Advantage with my PC. It is really easy to use, and I like the program and want to keep it. I am now getting a "Trial Running Out" message and the program has crashed a few times. I would be more than happy to pay for using it, but when I try and follow the link, it is not available.

I went directly to the web site, and since most of it is in a foreign language, I could not figure out how to pay. I downloaded from the ppc freeware site. Perhaps there is no connection between the issues I ma having and the "trial message," but I just do not know.

Any insights would be appreciated.

It looks like it will cost you $8:

DooSoftLabo: MobSync / CE-PC Synchronous

(select the link next to "Guide in English")

Julie,

Thank you for the information. I followed the links and found the "English Guide" download. However, I was unable to get on to that site because IE stopped responding. I have emailed them directly and hopefully will hear back.

As I said, I like the program and am willing to pay for it - just need to figure out how!

BTW, do you use any sync program? The main reason I bought the Advantage was because of the "mobile office" claim. Also, I like the resolution. Unlike the OQO 02, I can actually see the screen. I have been a little frustrated in getting client folders synced from the desktop to the Advantage. Mightsync does not work consistently, Easy Sync was not (easy). Mobsync seems like the best so far. Any other recommendations?

I bought Mighty Sync a long time ago and it works okay. The software's been updated, and I'd have to buy it again to get the updated software (which I'm not interested in doing at this time). I'll take a look at MobSync.

Honestly, I don't really sync documents and files any more. I found that syncing those kinds of things just made syncing take that much longer. The file syncing also got messed up from time to time. Then I discovered that the pocket pc reads most file in their native formats just fine (the mobile versions just make a more efficient file size). Since I store all files on my storage card. file size is not so important to me. So now I subscribe to the KISS principle....I copy most all my files directly to my storage card and only sync Outlook data.

I was able to purchase Mobsync. The developer sent me the information and I have entered the reg key.

I guess I am too lazy to keep swapping out the storage cards. I like the idea of just connecting and synching current client folders. I also purchased Softmaker Office 2006 to be able to work on and save documents without losing formatting.

I really am trying to make this a mobile solution, and perhaps am expecting too much. In a few months I will reevaluate my use and see if it is working for me. I hope so.
