Screen Protector Failure

I just got a boxwave screen protector to replace the one that came with the Advantage. When I put it on and touched the screen it wouldn't react to my touch. I thought my touchscreen had a failure. I reset it twice to no avail. I freaked out. I was getting ready to send it back to HTC for repairs.

Finally, I removed the screen protector and my screen worked again! Wow, am I stuck with the original protector? Anybody else have issues like this?

I'd definitely be going back to Boxwave. Maybe the protector they sent to you was a little too thick.

I have the Boxwave Crystal Clear screen protector...no issues here except for my ineptness at applying it the first time! I don't even notice it's there...though one caveat...one of my plastic stylii had a bit of a sharp edge to it and slightly scored my screen when writing...I blame this on the stylus, not on the screen protector. I probably should get one of those plastic/metal 3rd party ones that are similar to my former X51v's.

I reapplied it and now it works. How weird? Well, either way, I am thrilled to change screen protectors! Plus I have the new BoxWave case and will review it shortly. Looks good so far.

I've quit using screen protectors altogether. Had similar issue with my hx2495. Thought I learned that lesson with the Ax. Used it for 3 years with very little wear-and-tear to the screen. Much better just using the device as it was designed. Those screen protectors are (IMHO) a waste of money.

My scren protecter that came with the 7501 was getting pretty
ratty looking so I searched around Ebay and came across a
company by the name of Clear Protector.
The protecter is advertised as being used on helicopter blades
to guard against lead edge damage from airborne debris.
They are not cheap, $9.95 for one(1) application which I ordered.
Well so far it's great,went on easy with a spritz of water,squeeged
with a business card and it dried absolutely perfect,you can't tell it
from the original screen.
Let's hope it's as durable and bulletproof as they claim!

Just to follow up on my previous post covering the new screen protecter
I installed over a month ago,this Clear Protector is bulletproof.
After 5-6 weeks of daily use not a mark on it,definitely worth the money.
I would say the only negative is that the stylus doesn't slide as easy
as it did on the original-minor annoyance at best.

I recently got a ZAGG invisibleSHIELD full body protection for my X7501. I'm waiting for some decent free time without small noisy kids causing distractions to install it. From the looks of it, I need to use a cleanroom.

I installed the full body invisible shield. It took a bit of patience to do so, and I think it's a great product. I'm doing a review right now. I found that it adds grip to your device, but that same grip works against you when you try to write on the screen.
