htc advantage - video problem
dear all
I try to play some videos on the htc (windows media player). the results were very disappointing in terms of speed - there is a lag between image and sound.
The videos were fine when played with the axim 51. This topic has been discussed on the internet but there is no final verdict.
any suggestion?

until the Advantage gets better video drivers, it'll always lag. The X51V has its h/w acceleration enabled and the Advantage doesn't.

This is what I suspect.
It is such a good machine but shame about the video.

htc advantage and coreplayer
Dear all,
I have just installed the latest version of coreplayer v1.2.5 build 4506. When installation is completed a flashed msg appears and say something to the extent that coreplayer is adjusting to optimise with the ATI graphic chip and requires a soft reset.
Afterwards when I play a movie the mis-sync between audio and video is much improved.
Is it just my perception or there is some serious improvement regarding this problem?

As I understand it, poor video performance is a known and unresolved issue with the Advantage, as the current drivers do not use the graphics chip.

See here: HTCClassAction.org - Because HTC dropped the ball, and it's about time they pick it up!
See the January 23 update. The Advantage is allegedly affected.

The day they fix this is the day I buy this otherwise beautiful device.
