Piel Frama case or Vaja case for ATT 8525/HTC TyTN ?
I am leaning toward getting the ATT 8525 when I make my move over to ATT/Cingular phone. I have been looking at cases. The two I like the best are the Vaja Vaja © 2007 and the Piel Frama Leather case for HTC TyTN Ostrich (of course I like the most expensive one they make, but they do have others Leather pda cases htc tytn )

Ignoring the price which do you like best?

Susan

When I got my vario II (the t-mobile branded version of the tytn) I bought the proporta alu flip case. Don't buy that one as it suffers from some major design flaws. which is a shame as I think its the first bad case I've bought
from them (psion, clie, T2 and X50V)

I then went for the krusell obit, and like it a lot. It's a flip case rather than a book one though.

If i wanted a book format I'd go for the Piel frama (based on reputation)

My first case was a cheapo slip case from walmart for $10.00. While it wasn't bad, it did have a tendancy to press buttons while inserting the phone.

My current case is a leather side case that I bought at the Cingular store for $30.00. While it looks better and is easier to access the phone, it does have a few issues.

The first is that I can't charge it withour removing it from the case.

Second is the memory card slot is exposed and I have picked up the phone and saw the card was ejected partially

Third, is the same for the pen... I've lost one since purchasing this case

I have had a couple people (Aximsite member Jogga was one) who has said the Piel Frama are good cases

Radimus, sounds like YOU need a new case (and a new card, and a new pen )

I have Vajas for my and my wife's iPods and a Piel Frama case for my Axim. I love them both. If I were to pick which one was more impressive, I'd go with the Vaja. However, I must say that the ostrich Piel Frama probably is a step up from Vaja. If I were you, I would go for that one and not look back!

Update

I have been very pleased with a Vaja Balance case that I got for my Zune (Thanks to Jason Dunn of Zune Thoughts and Fabian at Vaja)......

so I decided to get a Vaja case for my AT&T 8525! My only complaint with the Vaja cases..... is that there are TOO MANY choices (not a bad thing )

Picture of case (Passion red....)

Now if I can wait for it to get here

Susan

PS My next Vaja case.... I am going to ask someone to select the colors!

There is no perfect case for the 8525, but here is my take.

First, I have enclosed my 8525 in a plastic innovative case from Boxwave. the model is called "The Active Case". This small profile case still allows you to open the slide because it is really 2 seperate pieces, one for the upper and one for the lower piece.

I have been using the Sena Lateral Pouch, which has a nice grade of leather, adequate for my needs, and a belt clip that slips onto your belt, once your belt is hooked and you are ready to go. The price point is excellent (around $45.00). But, after a month or so, perhaps after using the case with my larger belt for my jeans, I started finding that the belt clip would slip up and then off when wearing casual slacks and an average belt. Recently, I had to rescue my phone from under the next car in a parking lot. On the other hand, my 8525 encapsulated in my Active Case fits very nicely into this case.

I just bought a Vaja case and here are a few thoughts. The leather quality is somewhat better than that used in the Sena case, but at double the price. The belt holder (no clip) requires that you slide your belt thru the loop in the back of the case to get it in place. So, it is impossible to have the case fall off, but the belt loop is too small to fit my jeans belt (1 3/8"). The other problem is this; with the Active Skin in place, this case is a tad tight. I have to work at getting the magnets clipped together.

As I started this post, there is no perfect solution. Consider the Active Skin as a 'backup' protection.

I agree that the perfect case doesn't exist, but it's worth mentioning that the Krussel has the multiadapt system for it's cases.. so you can put a huge rage of clips on, from belt, to spring, to bike etc...

I have had a number of cases for my 8525 and I haven't found the "perfect" case yet... The problem is that I want the phone to be secure, without extra bulk, view and use the screen and easily accessible.
The cases I have had so far:
1. Active case - One drop on the ground and it broke the case (but not the phone)
2. Armour Case - Nice and secure but the metal interferes with the radio signal (but I can deal with that).. The only problem is that I had to open the case to use the screen)
3. Krusell Orbit - A flip case with a memory card holder and credit card slot. Nice case, I'm using it now but I don't like having to open up the case to see my email etc...
4. Invisible Shield - This is a skin for the 8525 and I highly recommend it. Not a case but it is a form of protection.

I just ordered the rubberized holster from seidoonline and the Krusell dynamic case from Mobile Planet. I ordered the Krusell dynamic case because it is exactly like the Krusell Orbit without the flip cover and I ordered the rubberized holster just in case I don't like the Krusell.

Krusell dynamic from Mobile Planet - $23 shipped.
Rubberized holster from seidoonline - $35 shipped.
