New 8525 Questions
Hello,

I just upgraded from my Ipaq 2755 to the ATT 8525 and I have a few questions.

1. How do you turn off the "Cool' 3G noise it makes at startup/reboot? That is really annoying in the middle of a meeting when the backup runs and resets the device.

2. I cannot be the BT to do file contact or any other transfer. It says it will not support that. Is this true? Can the drivers be updated?

3. It will not download any attachments from ActiveSync email. It says it does but then it will not open and shows 0K as the file size. I have the settings exactly the same as the ipaq which was able to download the attachments.

4. I am trying to decipher the network icons in the top bar. The book says 'E' for edge 'U' for 3G and 'G' for GPRS. However I only get 'E' and '3G' never 'U'. Is the 3G the same as 'U" ?

Otherwise I really like the device. It seems slightly faster than the Ipaq most of the time but at least similar. I really need to find a good task manager to replace the Ipaq manager. I miss it already

Thanks

I was trying to transfer files and settings from the old Ipaq and my old cell phone. It will not accept files from either. I often use the BT business card transfer from phone and PDA with clients. Can I do that? If so how?

Yes, set the AS setting and moved attachments to the Card. Still will not download a pdf file.

4. U=3G
Yes but us the 3G symbol UTMS?

I downloaded both mobile shell and phone suite. I think I am leaning toward the phone suite. Which do you recommend?

Thanks for the advice
