ah, alright. Thanks. I'll try and look for a ROM with at least 28 MB of RAM then. Hopefully the offical HTC one will be good enough.

most of the ROMs there are much lighter that the "official" ones, as most of the chefs removed as much excess crap as possible and than made individual cabs for installing programs... For example, I still haven't installed the voice dialer that comes built in the AT&T versions

Thanks, thanks, thanks. I installed vp3G 3.0.0 radio version 1.40.30.00 and love it. I do miss the voice dialer and my 5th button (PTT) that does not work. The sweet thing is I don't have all the worthless software that att places on theirs.

Also downloaded much of the software you recommended and placed the cabs files on my card. Still some twicking to do but I recommend this rom update to anyone. It was simple only about 10 minutes in install plus software. I highly recommend SpbMobile. They finally made a hit with this. (Pocket Breeze is tough on old eyes) and to tricky for the novice. "My Mobiler" is a big add to my laptop. THANKS again.

If you have suggestions for the PTT button and voice dailer please let me know.

in the first post of the ROM thread there are the addon cabs, one of which is the voice dialer.

the PPT Reassign cab works for me.

Maybe they are...but according to you they are also illegal, and not allowed on this site.

there is WM6 for the 8525, released by the manufacturer AND from the cell carrier... A customized version of it is no different than a custom install of XP.

The Admins have discussed and concluded the ROM update debate, and it is permissable to discuss them on AximSite but it is not permissable to link to them. Which is fine, because anyone can google search for the link.

This thread was reported as potentially being in violation of forum policy several weeks ago. After much debate amongst the moderators, the consensus was that since this is a leaked ROM (originally created and even leaked by the OEM), that will eventually be replaced by the official ROM which will be free to the users, this thread would be allowed to remain open.
