In my constant rebuilds, i've been resetting over and over and I have finally decided to eliminate one of my biggest pet peeves.
Registry Editing!!!!
I have no problem editing the registry, the Registry and I are good friends and I manipulate it daily in my job as a system administrator, however, I DO NOT like to do it hands on every time. I must have the ability to import/export changes for reapplication of changes.
I had used PHM regedit and it is quick and easy and exports reg files, but for some reason will not import the files it makes. After reading the roundup by menneisyys at
The Ultimate Roundup of Registry Editors for the Pocket PC It seems to be a broad issue...
There seems to just be one decent free one (with it's issues) and only 1 really good one regardless (Resco)... So until I get around to buying Resco Explorer, Tasco Registry Editor, here I come... PHM now goes into the pile of "close but not close enough" apps.
So now, I will be exporting my changes into reg files (or just one big one) and then Import it for rebuilds... Unless I make it into a cab, which is probably a better solution, but not as convenient.
