I use a LOT of data including push mail and over the course of the last year I've seen my battery life go from MOST of a day, to MOST of a work day, to "Keep it on the charger while I'm sitting at my desk", to "turn off data when not really needed"

I just happened to be browsing Amazon and was looking for phone accessories when I noticed that MANY 8525 accessories had become VERY inexpensive... probably due to the Tilt taking most of the thunder.

In any case, I found: "Cingular 8525 HTC Tynt Hermes Ext 2600mah Li-ion Battery w/ Door" for about $16.00

It is kind of big and makes the phone look a little bigger and slightly heavier, but if I can get a full days use without having to watch my power consumption...

It was time for a new battery anyway, they are really only good for about a year. YMMV

Mine went after about 12 months.... I was sure there was a software conflict but it was the battery.

I've gone for a cheap generic std battery and use the old one for emergencies

I have that same battery (same price too) and get about 3 days worth of charge out of it using WiFi fairly often & BT for calls and activesync as well as games in my down time

this battery is great so far... normal usage from 6:30am to 12:30 pm and still at 90%

The old standard battery would be at less than 50% by now
