Problem charging 8525

Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone had heard of problems with the tytn's charging/usb port. I purchashed my original 8525 on 1/13/07 and within one week it would not charge or sync. No trauma to the phone. Cingular replaced the phone no questions asked. Today, my new phone is not charging or syncing. Have read about problems with the ROM on the 8125 causing similar problems.

HELP!!

I haven't had problems. Well in the few weeks I had one. My Wizard had to be jumpstarted if it got too low though. I had to use a wall charger and soft reset when I plugged in. Weird, buit it worked.

I have occasional problems charging when not using the provided chargers... but a soft reset fixes that

I think that HTC did some funkyness to the USB port, and sometimes the port flakes out

FYI: Most of the HTC phones require a special charger. A couple of the pins are jumpered to provide the illusion of a functioning data line. What this means is that with a normal charger all will be well, until you hook the phone to a computer. After that the phone will notice the lack of a dara line with normal chargers and fail to charge. A soft reset will 'reset' this function, but only until you connect the phone to a computer again.

I've had my Orange SPV M3100 since August of last year and have had none of the problems reported here, and I sync my phone with my laptop every day.
