Are these known for having battery life problems? I have a friend who has one and she is getting about 5 hrs on a charge. I have already told her to make sure all the radio's are off.

It could be that she has a dodgy battery...mine ususally last betweens 3-5 days depending on the usage. The best thing to do to see if the bataery is damaged is to charge it fully, then discharge completely (so it doesn't turn on again), recharge fully while leaving off, discharge again, and finally recharge again. If the battery life is still 5 hours then the battery will need replacing.

a lot of it depends on what services are on the device. for example, I used to have it update the weather plug in and check pop mail every 30 minutes... the battery life would be about 5-6 hours.

Once I changed the frequency of the updates my battery life drastically improved. It still doesn't last multiple days but I get a day's use out of it without the battery dying on me
