Jumped from Axim to 8525 and I need some help!

Hi all, I'm new to the 8525, coming over from an Axim x51v, and there are some differences.
I am hoping that someone who has also made the jump, like Radimus, will jump in and help me out.

The software problem is this; using what I did with the Axim causes me to crash. I think that Wisbar and Weather Panel using the animated icons are the problem. Has anyone else found this to be so?
Is there a substitute for Wisbar out there - menus and fix up the top bar on the screen?

From the phone side of it, is there a way to raise the volume of the phone but not the volume of installed games etc?
How do I find if I hace missed calls?
Thanks:)

first thing is probably a memory issue. PPC phones use more resources than do the standard PPC, so I do not use wisbar even though I have a licensed copy of it.

as for the volume click the volume icon and you will see 2 sliders, one for phone and one for system sounds

the systems will show notifications of missed calls and voice mails.

my first guess is that you are using a skin not made for phone devices. then invest in a phone message center app like SPB phone suite or some such.

I used both apps at one time or another. As nice as your phone is, it is not the processor that the dell was. So try turning of the animation.

Without knowing what else you are running...WA isn't that bad (compared to running WAD for example), so there might be something else going on.

You could try simply uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that clears up your crashing. I did love the WA/WAD combination, but didn't love the resources they used.

i have no problems. im running wa2 and wad 1.2 with pocketbreeze rhinostats ilauncher and pocketweather and weatherpanel running on landscape (with animated icons).

your call volume can be adjusted in call using the scrollwheel.

you can see if theres a missed call with phonealarm. otherwise there will be a notification at the top of the screen telling you there was a missed call or a message/appointment etc.

make sure any today items are installed to internal storage. i install pocketweather and weatherpanel to sd. move any themes for pocketbreeze weatherpanel pocketweather and wa2/wad to external storage, and point the program to that directory.

take a look at how much memory you have available. if your running low you might need to hard reset and start installing from scratch so that you can maximize program memory. if you need more detail, let me know
