HTC Kaiser = AT& T Tilt?

CrunchGear has new on the HTC Kaiser coming to AT&T:

The Kaiser is coming, and maybe sooner than we thought. An avid CrunchGear reader and commenter was in his local AT&T store and asked about the AT&T 8925 smartphone. The phone monkeys said that yes, the 8925 would be replacing the 8525 soon, either at the end of August or the beginning of September.

If you've been waiting to take the plunge on a Windows Mobile high-end smartphone, this is your window (heh). The phone's feature-packed and sets the bar higher as far as the amount of crap you can pack into a handset.

But the big news from our awesome tipster is the name of the unit. In America, the Kaiser for AT&T will be known as "The Tilt." Take a look, you'll see why. Expect it in two versions, one with the cameras removed, as AT&T does for many of its business-focused phones.

Editor's Note: I don't care what they call it....just get it here...ASAP! ~Susan

Source: CrunchGear

View Original Blog Post

"My product guy said we are testing……not sure on when we releasing…..probably September-ish. "

With the ruling about Qualcomm processors, this thing may never make it to the US.

I have a really hard time calling a 400MHz device without VGA a "high-end" device.

Wow. How the bar has been lowered...

Maybe if you included VGA (or better) display and gave me a 600+MHz processor (like we had before convergence) and I'd consider calling that device "high-end", the Kaiser? No.

I have to agree with you. Don't get me wrong, I still love the Kaiser, but I too would love to see a VGA screen and a faster processor. I know some will say that it draws a lot of battery power. To that, I have a couple of options. For the processor, I'd like to see a scalable processor so that you can choose to run at full speed when you need the power, or dial back on the clock speed if you need it to hold out on battery strength. As for the VGA screen, I would give up some battery for a clearer screen!!

Again, I will want to get a Kaiser because it is a very cool device on paper, but those are some things I would wish to see.

While I would like a VGA screen, unless it was an inch or two larger...qvga is fine for this.

If the thing's battery is twice the size as the 8525, I'll buy it in a heartbeat. a $600.00 heartbeat

The qualcomm processor is supposed to be better than the current 400 mhz processor in just about everything. ;lso there is a much better 3 mp camera with auto focus. I did I mention GPS! I am psoting this from my 8525 with q qwerty keyboard that the axim does not have. I really don't care aboutg vga screen, but I would like to see vga out first. Then 3.5 audeo jack... Lastly, there is a good chance at&t will leave the front facing vga camera too. How can you say this device is not awesome!

They have my order as well... and will be looking for a 2500+mah battery for it

Then to find someone who wants to buy a slightly used 8525... :)

I told my oldest son my 8525 was his when I "upgraded" (He wanted it from day one)

Sometimes, it is nice to have 4 teens....especially since hubby has NO interest in tech gadgets :)

My wife doesn't either, but for som reason she doesn't want, "Your hand-me-down crap"... "Why do I get the old stuff?"

She gave me crap when I gave her my x51v when I bought the 8525...

Ungrateful wench.
