I have just had a live demonstration of the Kaiser and on first impression it appears to be the business. I must add though that the unit used does not have the expected launch version of ROM, so the Touchflo was not wholly functional as was in the HTC Touch. Compared to the v51x, the screen is rather small so for those who also require a PMP, it would not be the same though I understand that grahics may be slightly better. It is still QVGA though.
I am disappointed with the USB connection for headphones though with a bluetooth adapter a non-proprietory one could be used. The HTC version of Kaiser is packed with some useful programs such as business card scanner and backup tool.
It feels solid and I suspect it should withstand a knock or two. I suspect that MicroSD is the future, but the CF card I believe still has a lot of years left.
Latest estimate is that the Kaiser should be available first week of Sept. Mobile phone networks will have to wait a bit longer.

I'm sure the 8925 will have GPS, it just won't be accessible to user-installed applications. And to use it with the bundled application, you'll have to buy the data-plan.
