Additional Comments on the AT&T 8925 Tilt

Hopefully everyone has headed over to MobilitySite.com and checked out my review on the AT&T Tilt! If not, check it out by clicking here:

Shameless plug huh? HAHAHA
Anyway, I wanted to post some more observations on my continuing experience with the Tilt. First, the keyboard sliding out from right to left is driving me CRAZY! I REALLY do not like this. I have developed habits managing the 8525 and they are hard to break. I will get used to it, but it is really aggravating at this point! Second is how much more recessed the power button is compared to the 8525. It is much more difficult to depress.
Lastly, the GPS is still awesome. TeleNav performs quite well. I wish it had auto complete functions that worked a little better, but it works quite well. I tend to like Microsoft Live Search a little better than I like Google Maps, I like the UI a little better and I like the Triangle position locator better than the dot used by Google. Google however displays GPS Satellites connected which I think is really cool.
More to come! I want to really give the camera more testing as well! That is a key feature for me to purchase the 8925 Tilt!
Stay Tuned!

I guess it's a subjective thing - I like that it slides out to the right. I'm used to holding my Axim in Landscape mode with the buttons on the left in my left hand, so this sliding to the right is perfect for me :)

I'm getting more and more used to it. It's force of habit from the 8525...

I guess I'm lucky coming from the PDA world. It just seems more natural this way to me (I assume lefties would agree with you, though :) ).

I've been doing the separate phone & PDA thing for a few years, but now my boss is requiring me to get a Crackberry. That being said, the Tilt looks like a winner - I think I'd be interested in it as a "converged" device even if I didn't need to get a Crackberry. For phones, I like the "normal" size of a cell phone (I have a Nokia 6236i at the moment, although it's smallish for me). And for PDAs, I like them the size of my X51 (a little bigger is OK, too). But, this Tilt is the first converged WM phone that I've liked just as a phone-PDA combo.

Too bad the Tilt doesn't do VGA, though - I've grown quite fond of running my X51 in VGA mode (yes, I can actually read it like that - even holding it near arm's length :) ).

GloFiish eten x500 will come with VGA screen. It is not a "pretty" looking device by no means, but it will come action packed with a swoopy vga screen. About 829 bucks for the little fiiisch... There is a post on mobilitysite about it...

I agree Kadiir, I think the Tilt slide is made for right handed user. I am a right handed person, and the Tilt slide is working great for me.
