Perormance is exceptional on this device, but I have seen some "buggy" issues with it resulting in some soft resets. PIE is terrible, but I am a creature of habit, so I stick with it. I have used it a loooooong time. I need to switch to opera, but since PIE now allows to save images, it is not as critical as it once was. (I blog some from my phone)
A lot of the buggy-ness is power related. I think my power button on this evaluation device is finicky. Keeping in mind of how many people may have abused poor device before me. (like Leckness! LOL)
I am not in a 3G area, but EDGE seems to work consistant with the 8525. I think the best we can hope for is that there will be a cooked ROM to clean up all the crap AT&T puts on it. all that trial software bothers the crap out of me. I also could care less about the AT&T media, store, and video icons.
I am using a cooked ROM on my 8525, and it dramatically helped, but I still do a soft reset every couple of days because of PIE not responding.
Just my 2 cents.
NOTE: This device is still Freakin AWESOME in my book. So just keeping things real with some of my experiences with the TILT.

Keeping things real would include using the device in a 3G area.

Actually, I did... If you read my review of the Tilt I said:
Quote:
With so many other features packed into the AT&T 8925 Tilt, that I almost forgot it’s a phone! So how does the 8925 do? Well, as mentioned, I have been traveling through the south east this week on business and have been in and out of Atlanta, the home of AT&T and 3G heaven! So I have been in and out of these networks all week. I experienced no dropped calls, and no real reception issues. Lucky? Maybe, but like the 8525, the 8925 does a great job as a phone and I have been, and will continue to be very impressed with HTC’s radio quality...
Also...I noticed on the ATT forums ("bad reviews") many mentioned they had phone for weeks... so probably talking about TyTN II and not Tilt (or possibly just troublemakers complaining to try an make the device look bad)
I just spoke to an AT&T Business sales rep who tried to get me to sign up for the data plan. His pitch was that the 8925 does not have "open" wifi, meaning that it can't simply access a wifi signal from my home wireless router. He claimed it is restrcted to pay per use or the AT&T data plan. Does anyone know if this is true or is it just a sales rep gone wild? Have you been able to hop on to any wirless signal or just the paid access?
I have a question about the Tilt (and I've never owned a smartphone, but I'm drooling over the Tilt.) Can a full size bluetooth keyboard hook up to the phone?

False, WiFI is free for as long as you want it... Call back and get another rep with a brain! The data plan is where they make some serious cash. I get gouged 40 bucks a month and then will have to pay extra to connect my laptop to it. (laptop connect plan for 10 bucks more.)
I am concerned with how slow the screen changes from portrait to landscape. Seems there is some buggy issues. I am still using a Demo, so I wonderif it was pre-production and some ROM issues. I may try a hard reset to see how it works after. Has any one else had any screen change issues?
I am, just got to wait for the funds to get to my bank! Also, need to think of a diversion to keep my wife away from the mailbox for the next couple of weeks so I can intrercept the bank statment and destroy!!! LOL Just kidding...
