I am looking to purchase my first SmartPhone and I really like the features of the Tilt. I have read all about the hardware but I can't find any user comments on the voice and data plans and what your monthly charges are.

I just need the basic voice plan but would like a unlimited data plan and don't care about sms text messages. The best pricing I can find on the AT&T site is:

Voice: 450 Minutes Nation @ $39.99
Data: PDA Personal Max @ $39.99
Totaling $79.98 monthly charges.

Looking at AT&T iPhone plans the basic individual plan, which is the same 450 minutes and unlimited data, is only $59.99. How can I get that plan for the Tilt?

Is Apple finally cheaper?

Based on what I know you cannot get the iPhone plan for the Tilt

right now i have no data plan and am just using the wireless for my internet. since i mainly use it at home or at a friends its not a big deal. If I can hold off till april my company will pay for the data plan.....

fortunately for me, my company pays for my data plan. My bill runs 125 to 200 a month with international calling. on top of that at&t want another 10 bucks a month for telenav! where does it end?
