Voice Command

I'm using Voice Command now on my Tilt with the same excellant capabilities and reliability that it had on my 8525.

For me, voice commander 1.6 isn't announcing incoming phone calls via tilt speaker. :(

Yes, it does not do this. Not really a substantial problem but certainly some conflict with the Tilt firmware.

It would always announce the incoming calls on my 8125, but not on the 8925. It is a major concern for me. I don't like answering calls while driving, unless they are very important. On the 8125 it would announce who was calling so I didn't have to look at the phone to see if I needed to answer. Now if I want to know I have to take my eyes off the road to view the phone. It is a safety concern that I hope can be addressed by either HTC or Microsoft

There is a fix for this. It is well documented that VC 1.6 has this issue with Windows Mobile 6. Fortunately, there is a fix over at xda-developers.com. Here is the link:

Some VC Issues

I just installed the latest VC on my Tilt using a new LG BT and for the most part it works well.

But sometimes VC just seems to stop responding either to the button on the headset or the button on the Tilt itself. This is usually after some other activity, such as ActiveSync. Other times it continues to work, but the announcing beep-BEEP after you press the button is gone.

Also, how do you switch from headset back to internal speaker/mic? I shutdown my headset and turned off BT, but my next call still tried to go to the headset and of course nothing heard either way. This was not a problem before I installed VC.

Thanks, Bob

I just installed the incoming call announce files and it works as specified. It also seems more stable and I had no problem today switching BT on and off.

A question: I noticed that the four files in the fix were significantly smaller than the originals, but had a later date. So I went ahead and copied them and all seems OK, but I wonder why the file size change. Anybody know? Things usually get bigger, not smaller!

Bob

I have the latest XML for Kaiser Tweak and have never found the one that keeps the keypad up after dialing, as you mention above. Which tweak is that?

not when Microsoft compiles, their files are always huge. I bet the person who patched the file, compiled the final files in a different manner.

I've been using the patched VC1.6 for a few weeks now with no issues, nor any loss of functions.

I've activated Voice Command after installing 6.1. How do I access/use it?
