Nobody has been misled, it is a fantastic machine but it needs some attention to get everything running well.
(a) Bluetooth. The Tilt utilizes version 2.0 of the specification and thus, certain BT headsets may have problems with it. I did mention that Motorola's HS850 and H700 did not work, but the H12 did (it is BT 2.0) and it actually works excellently. I found the implementation of BT in the Tilt the best that I have seen and I have managed to connect with many cell phones both in the US and Europe, with laptops and with desktops with the minimum of fuss.
(b) Voice command. The Tilt does not come with Microsoft's Voice Command. This is an application that you need to purchase. It works excellently with the proper BT headset.
(c) For browsing, using Opera Mini 4.2. It essentially imparts to the Tilt most of the browsing capabilities of the iPhone (although currently it does not support flash). You would be able to zoom in and out of any Internet site, not only the ones that support phones. The Tilt makes it easy to install this version of Opera because it has the Java applet already installed.
(d) Install both Microsoft's Live Search and Google Maps with My Location. Both use the GPS capabilities of the phone excellently (the recent version of Google Maps is much faster than the previous one) and you will get tremendous usability. Both of these packages are free.
(e)I had access to a variety of Resco applications (File manager, Photo Viewer, Voice recorder, Internet Radio and Registry Editor) from my previous phone that add a substantial amount of usability to any PDA phone. Yes, they cost some money but they are all bundled for what I would regard as an appropriate fee.
(f)If you want TV, you can certainly subscribe to Mobic TV but this goes beyond what I want to do with the phone but trying the service out shows to me that it works very well.
Overall, the Tilt is a terrific phone and in many ways it can substitute for a laptop when the laptop is not an option. Both Google Maps and Live Search give tremendous capabilities in finding everything and finding your way in unknown places.
If you want to play with the phone more, I strongly suggest installing Kaiser Tweaks. It is a great piece of software and makes certain adjustments to the phone that nothing else would accomplish. For example, it allows the dial keypad to remain on after you have dialed and makes the phone compatible with HSDPA, etc., etc....
