Loose Buttons (Exterior Buttons below screen)

Edit: AT&T Tilt (HTC 8925)

I was just wondering if this was only my unit or if every unit is this way.

The buttons below the screen (the two buttons for the softkeys, send, end, internet explorer & messaging keys) the whole group slide around a bit and it seems as though they were supposed to be glued/fastened down somehow but were not.

Is this how everybody's is (slightly loose) or is mine abnormal?

Thanks,

Mike

They move but do not slide around. I would go by an ATT store and see how an 8525 or 8925 compare to yours and see if it should be replaced or not.

a bit loose

Mine rattle a bit and give the feel like they are loose. I'm guesing they used a different metal to get the chrome.

no. they definitely slide around in their little "hole" in the case. imagine that the keys could move side to side or top to bottom by about a millimeter. it's not particularly disturbing and took me almost a week to notice. i'll still go by at&t and see if they'll let me handle a different one to see if it's the same but i doubt they will. i have an 8525 and the buttons definitely do not slide around like the ones on my tilt. if you have a tilt see if the whole group of buttons on the bottom slide around just a little or if they seem solidly installed.

I see what you are saying. Yes, they do. I tried it in the dark and coud see their backlight come through the edges. I don't think I would have otherwise noticed. MC

Mine does so as well, but I hadn't noticed it as a problem...

I was not reporting it as a problem... I just wanted to know if it was just mine or all of them. Not a big deal but peaked my curiosity :-) Thank you guys for your time :-)

I noticed this on the unit that I was looking at in the AT&T store, so it doesn't appear to be isolated to your unit.

Mine are loose too but everything is fine and working. I am not going to worry about it.

Ahaa .. When I was the ATT store and questioned the salesperson that the buttons seem loose, the reply was : "Oh! That's just a floor model. The new phone's buttons will not move" !!

Since there is no reason that those buttons should be moving, I would consider this as a quality/defect in the phone

Had mine about a week and just noticed the same thing. Searched and found this thread. I am curious what my store will say when I ask them the same thing. :approve:
