Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post
It took me yesterday about 5 minutes to get the code.
I called AT&T and told them that I often travel oversees and want to use local SIM cards. They said "No problem" and gave me a 8 digit number (didn't even mentioned the roaming).
To test it I put in a T-Mobil SIM card from my Blackberry.
After phone loaded it asked for the unlock code.
After I entered those 8 digits it immediately connected to T-Mobil.
They also said that after you enter that code once the phone will remain unlock forever.
Regards

Cool why pay

does not anybody know that all u have to do is call your carrier.. such as at&t. tell them you plan on going out of the country and u would like to have the subsidiary unlock code for your phone. as of about two or so years or go the FCC said they have to give u this code even if ur not leaving them. as far as the money, i would try to get it back.. hope u used pay pal.. oh.. it does take a few days in but its free.. i do know this for a fact because i have done it

I just wanted to chime in because it seems everyone just ignored the post. There is a way to unlock your tilt without ever calling AT&T. All you do is go to xda-developers and there a person that has been kind enough to create a method to unlock the phone... and its free! Go to this topic Kaiser Sim Unlocker - xda-developers and read about it. You might want to check out the other things jocky has done because he has a lot of great stuff. Its just another way if you don't want to call AT&T a couple of times.
