O.k. This is getting on my nerves! I thought I have gone through and did everything I could. I even uninstalled it, but it is still showing up as a bar on the today screen. How do I get rid of it?

I am new here by the way, HI!!

I don't have your phone, but I'm guessing that in your settings you should have the ability to select what appears on your today screen. Untick messaging.
On mine it is, Start/settings/personal/today/items
It may be different on yours.

Did you try a soft reset after changing the setting?

Yes, I did! When I looked back at it, it is unchecked, but it still shows up!
It's possessed. It must have something do with the fact that I can't stand instant messaging, so it's trying to shove itself down my throat! Urg!

simplest thing is to remove all your today items (uncheck them)

Add them back a few at a time until you find it
