theres really no big differences between the two - functionality wise. the tytn II has a camera on the faceplate in addition to the one on the battery side which is for video calling. it also works well for self portraits :)

the at&t model has a different keyboard which adds color to the numbers which are accessable using the function key. i personally think the blue keys are distracting.

the rom is a bit bloated, as usuall on any at&t model. i believe you get different apps on the tytn II which dont come with the 8925.

the biggest difference is the price, of course. its nice to have the oem model right from the manufacturer, but i kinda wish i hadnt spent so much.

all that being said, i do think this is the best device ive ever owned. the huge capacity for programs and main storage, the gps, 802.11g, hsdpa, edge, wm6... and of course the keyboard, makes this imho the best thing on the market right now. i use this device instead of my iphone. its tough to top an iphone in overall functionality. this was an upgrade from an 8525 which was also a great device.

if youre able to upgrade your device with your at&t contract, definity go for it! otherwise if you have some extra cash burning a hole in your pocket, shoot over to expansys or mobileplanet and grab one of these things...

theres also a great community over at xda dev forums (and one here too :) )

Thanks for the info. So, If I have a choice of either, which do I buy? I've found the AT&T on ebay for around $500 and the TyTN II for $600. I do like the look of the TyTN a little better as I don't care for the silver number keys on the AT&T as much. Not sure I'd use the front facing camera.

I see that there are a few differences, but I'm wondering over all which would be better for me. I most likely won't be using the phone feature at all, since AT&T doesn't allow roaming for more then 50% of the time :( and we don't have a AT tower near us. Tmobile just doesn't have much coverage around here either.

I want it mainly for PDA and for using Wifi at home. I may try a sim card of some kind at some point.

If you don't want a phone, there are many more stand alone PDA's that would be more useful and cheaper.

If you want PDA get a axim or one of the new HP models, no phone can match those yet, except for the HTC advantage!

with all that internal storage, this is better than those devices youve mentioned... plus the ability to use gps, wifi, and have gsm network access? i dont know why you would use anything else ever agian... unless you were stuck on vga, but i dont think thats too important.

i use the front camera for portrait shots, the back camera for normal camera kinda pictures.

the at&t model will lack some nice htc software and is bloated from the factory. the tytn II is unlocked so you can use it on any gsm network. i would recommend the oem htc tytn II over the tilt.

I've had many different pocketpc PDAs, also Palm PDAs and I want something with built in keyboard. I have a clie UX50 now and like having the keyboard, but want to go to Windows Mobile. I've been debating on getting a Pocketpc phone combo for sometime now.

I like the tilt feature on the Tilt/TyTN and also the WM6 and included GPS. Most of the reviews have stated its way more of a PDA then a phone, which is what I want.
