Worried HELP! with my ATT Tilt: Will a BT 2.0 Compliant solve my voice speed dialing problem?

I have posted this same problem on htc wiki and xda-developers. Many people have viewed and are experiencing this same problem, but no one has posted any solution specific to my problem. Here goes.

When I use my Motorola H700 with the Tilt the BT works fine, UNTIL, I use the voice speed dialing from the Tilt. Once I use the voice speed dialing directly on the Tilt, the Motorola H700 will no longer connect. I have to do a soft reset or go through the pairing process again. Once I re-establish pairing again, the H700 will continue to work fine, UNTIL, I use the voice speed dialing on the Tilt. Then we're back to having to do a soft reset to again establish H700 connection with the Tilt.

NOW, I just received a call back from an HTC tech who told me the problem is likely due to the Motorola H700 being only BT 1.2 compliant. He recommended that I try the Motorola H12, which is BT 2.0 compliant, but he could not absolutely guarantee this would solve my problem.

Does anyone know for SURE that the Motorola H12, being BT 2.0 compliant, will solve my problem? Or is there another solution?

Note: I have tried MS Voice Command 1.6 (full version), but the above problem still occurs. I have also tried Jetware, but again, no go. I am not sure that there is going to be an updated AT&T ROM to solve this issue either.
Additional Note: I have also tried other BT devices, such as the Jawbone, and the Plantronics Voyager. All do exactly the same thing as above.

Anyone have any solution? If the Motorola H12 is the solution, that would be great...
Thanks in advance.

I've had a slightly related issue reagarding bluetooth with my Cardo S2s (which I love, by the way). Basically, it can't be a wireless stereo headset for music and hands free for the phone at the same time--I have to pick one or the other or else the wireless stereo function won't pair. What happens sometimes is I'd press the ctrl button on the S2s and instead of stereo pairing it goes to the voice dial screen. Then I have to turn off the headset and try again. Luckily I don't use the S2s too often, so I haven't had to deal with this inconvenience; instead, I've simply turned off the hands free option in my BT settings for the S2s, and I haven't really had any stereo pairing issues since. It's not optimal, but it's enough for me; nothing is perfect.

Turns out the S2s are also only BT 1.2 compliant.

Did the tech say why 1.2 has this problem compared to 2.0?

Could it still be a BT 2.0 issue?

Thank you, JYKNYC, so much for responding. You are the first person in over 100 viewers in three different forums to respond. Much appreciated.

The HTC tech did not give too much of an explanation; he said the technology in BT 2.0 will probably resolve the problem, but he wasn't absolutely positive.

I can see by the number of viewers that many people are experiencing the same or very similar problems with their BT handsfree headset and the use of voice speed dialing (whether they are using the stock ATT Tilt voice speed dialing/tags OR MS Voice Command.)

If you hear of a solution please pass it on. I am really stumped on this one.
I haven't gotten the Motorola H12 yet and was hoping someone or a developer/tech may have a solution.

Again, the ATT Tilt voice speed dialing works fine. The Motorola H700 BT works fine, UNTIL I use the voice speed dialing from the Tilt itself, then the H700 will not pair up. I have to do a soft reset, then the H700 will continue to work just fine, UNTIL the first time I go and use the voice speed dialing on the Tilt itself, then the H700 will not work again, and I have to do a soft reset again to make the H700 work.

So, could it be a BT 2.0 vs. a BT 1.2 issue, or is it BT stacking, or is it the need for ATT to do an updated ROM to solve this issue (which will probably never occur)?

I guess this is why the HTC tech suggested I try the Motorola H12 which is BT 2.0 compliant, whereas the Motorola H700 is only BT 1.2 compliant...

Still, if you hear of a solution PLEASE let me know. This is more than just an inconvience, since I rely on handsfree when in the car, and then in the office or out some place I rely on the voice speed dialing from the Tilt directly.

Thanks so much again!

I've got a Plantronics 520 (which I believe is 2.0 compliant), and I don't believe I've had this problem, if I understand what you're saying your problem is. [Note that buy.com has the 520s for only $46--quite a deal.]

You say that when you use the voice dialing on the Tilt the headset stops working. I'm a little confused as to what you mean. On the 520, if I press and hold the control button the voice dialing screen pops up, and I've used it to make calls with no problem.

Do you instead mean that if you have your headset paired up and then go to Voice Dialing on the phone (using your fingers/stylus/Tilt buttons) instead of through buttons on your headset then the headset stops working? Let me know if this is what you mean and if so, I'll check it out for you.

Thanks jyknyc.

Yes, if I have my headset paired up it will continue to work fine. I can shut down the Motorola H700, and when I reopen it, it will reconnect just fine. The H700 will continue to work fine, BUT, the first time I shut down my H700, then go to Voice Dialing on the phone (using my fingers/stylus/Tilt buttons) instead of using my headset then the next time I go to use my H700 the headset stops working and will not reconnect. I then have to do a soft reset to re-establish pairing of the H700 with the Tilt. If you could figure this out that would be GREAT!!!

One other thought... Could my problem be due to my current ATT stock Radio version: 1.27.12.11?
(My ATT ROM is stock: 1.57.502.2)
I don't know how or if I should attempt upgrading my Radio to version 1.27.12.17? (or 1.27.12.32) That is, I don't know if changing the radio will solve the problem either?

Jyknyc, if you can figure this out... WOW!
(You'll make me AND my wife very happy...)

Thanks so much jyknyc.
