How to stop active sync from running??

Seems that everytime I check the task manager ? (upper right corner) the active sync is running. Is there a way to cut it off. I keep stoping it by stoping all programs etc. I do not syn with any computer etc.. I did some research and found a website that advised to set up a "dummy server account" in order to access the tab to select manual or random. I selected manual but it continues to kick on. It did not seem to fix this issue. I do have kaisertweak, is there a setting in there I can change?

Go there and read through it. It worked great for me (X51) When you undock the Axim you have to manually turn Activesync off, BUT it doesn't turn back on again until its re-docked. :)

Hope it helps

To turn off activesync after removing it from the cradle go Start -> Settings -> System -> Memory -> Running Programs -> Stop All

Becomes 2nd nature after you do it enough times.

Why is Activesync running in the background a problem if you don't use it? Does it really suck up that much memory?

Activesync running in the background chews up battery life.
On the Axim 51v the FAKE SERVER TRICK (posted on this site)
stops activesync app from booting up except when it is placed
on the sync/charge cradle.

Ok, did it. I will monitor it today and report back. I did it the other day but after reading the above post, I missed a step.

Thanks for your reply

I use a program called ActiveSyncToggle.exe - works OK
Try google - or write back and I'll make an 'investigation' :p

Edit: Have a look here ...

Are you using push email on your device?

Ok, I am not using "push email", but my pop account is sch. to send and receive every 60mins. Does this activate active sync?????
I check it a few times today and it still kicks on. I did the process again and soft reset, but it still comes back on. The way I turn it off is I tap the small icon on the upper right corner (I believe task manager) it it shows me all programs running. At this time I select "stop all". Is this not the same as going through as stated above?? Are do i need to go to start>setting>system>memory>running systems>stop all???
Like I said I use my tilt as a stand alone device. Never hook it up to a computer unless I am downloading a program/file.

ActiveSync Toggle is a PC program, it only turns off active sync on your PC not your PPC.
I turned it off bothwaysand it still returns. /i guess there is nothing you can do???

If you have a Tilt and trying to stop activesync from running you need to disable Network Clock time sync. This can be found in the Phone settings. This way Active Sync will only be active when connected to the PC but you do lose network time sync. I've been using the Tilt for a while and I haven't noticed battery life degraded because it's running.

What is Network Clock time sync? Does that mean that the clock resets itself with the wireless connection. If its turn off it will run independently???
Is the settings for "Automatic change times zone and clock setting"?
Am I close
