error notification

I had installed SplashNews, but found something I liked better. I used the delete program utility on tilt to get of it. But I can't get rid of this pesty notification:

"Cannot execute\Program Files\SplashNews\Splashnews.exe.

How can I stop this error notification from popping up--It is very annoying because it is very difficult to close and will pop up 1)whenever I want to use phone, blocking view of keypad. 2) Whenevery Today screen pops up, blocking the tabs and the screens for clock or weather or program shortcuts. 3) And at just about anytime I bring up the web browser of the file finder.

Everything else about SplashNews seems to be gone.
Help!

Go to the \windows\startup folder on your pocket pc and look for a shortcut there for SplashNews. Assuming you find it, press & hold your stylus on it until a popup menu appears, then select Delete.

Have you done a soft reset since uninstalling it?

Remove it's shortcut from the startup folder.

notification error

I have already removed the icon, although I got there by windows/Start menu/programs.

I also looked in Windows/startup and there are only a couple of things there and none look like a shortcut to Splash News.

Thanks for the tips. Can the problem be somewhere else or cloaked under a different name?

Can you list out the shortcuts you see in the Startup folder?

None of those look like they could be causing your issue. Can you review the notification queue in your pocket pc (you'll need SKTools, or Memmaid to do this)?

I downloaded memmaid & got rid of the problem, I think. Thanks so much.

Would this work for uninstalling the Sprite Backup version that came in ROM with the AT&T TILT. I can't find a way to remove it, either from Remove Programs or Act. Sync, and I want to upgrade to the current version of Sprite (which they say should have the previous version removed first)? I'll be putting the upgrade on SD.
