Hmm.. Did not realize that. I CAN see the potential for abuse, but if your just using you laptop keyboard and screen to do what your would of done anyway on the tilt..where IS the harm? The exact same amount of data will be transmitted over the network.

What exactly is a teathering plan? I've hear that mentioned a couple of places but when I asked an ATT rep today, they said they didn't know what it was.

Well, until they find out.. Unless you set up a server or downloading huge files like divx movies or shopping for songs, etc.. it should be safe.
Bernie, AT&T and other companies limit the internet access they provide only to the device you use your service with. For tethering (hooking up your phone to computer and leeching internet off it), they either don't allow it or they want you to buy GSM/PC-CARD and get internet plan solely for that.

But if you are already receiving huge amount of e-mails on your phone, going over 50-60MB a month, sometimes double that, they will not notice if you do the same with your laptop tethering.
