Hell all

I have a few newbie questions on notifications / sounds..

What folder contains all the sounds, I deleted alot (default installed sounds), however when I want to change the sounds the names are still there and they still work..confused on this, I dont need all those extra BS files.

Also, I can get MP3 and Wav to work as ring tones, however I can not get the MP3 or wav to work as New text messge notification, how do I get the MP3 to work as new text message.

Any comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated, oh and I have only owned the ATT tilt for about 3 days, its unlocked and I am using T-Mobile as my carrier.

be careful what you delete. most sound files can be deleted without messing things up. things in rom you will not be able to delete, however.

you can put notification sounds in the /windows directory, or the /windows/rings directory...

im pretty sure notification sounds have to be in wav form without the use of 3rd party softwares...

id recommend sbsh phoneweaver or pocketmax phone alarm. really adds more functionality to your device and allows a more broad selection of alarms and settings for rintones and notifications etc
