Dropped Calls?!

I got my new Tilt a few months back and everything has been going really well but recently it's been dropping calls. I use my phone for work and dropping calls while speaking to clients isn't tolerable.

The one thing I've noticed is when I drop a call I look at my phone and I have a balloon saying connecting to Media Net or connecting to GPRS. I have a feeling this is part of the problem it's almost as if the phone jumping networks and dropping the phone calls.

Is anyone else having similar problems? I really need an answer because it's not very professional to have to call a client back 4-5 times.

Thanks.

make sure youre connected to the proper band. in the us your phone should be set on the 1900+850 gsm network. otherwise, you can disable gprs especially if youre not using it by running kaisertweak and setting it never to connect to a data network, or by simply deleteing the medianet connection (you can reapply it later if you want)

another thing may be a bad sim card... sometimes those things go bad even when theyre new...

just some thoughts :)

I had a problem with it dropping calls and then it would be totally unable to make or receive calls. If it lost the 3G and Edge signals, and went to GPRS, then it would never go back to a stronger signal, and would hold on to that weak GPRS signal until it lost it, then search and search and search but never find or lock on to a signal again. A soft reset would get it back to working, but it would happen again. They replaced it and the present phone is fine. A number of others had similar symptoms, but after being replaced their problems went away. It seemed as though if it went to GPRS, it was the kiss of death. Often going into a Costco or Home Depot would put it into the GPRS mode, and it would never come out of it. If it continues, get a replacement.
