hey im new to this phone and I figured out how to download the .cab filas but whenever I try to download a zip file it doesn't work even though the site I download it from says its supported by windows and pocket pc

Winrar has a free pocket pc version, thats just as good as the desktop version. It does rar and zip, and has many features that most ppc zip programs dont.

What you'll need to do is unzip the file after you've downloaded it to your pocket pc. The pocket pc does not have a way to unzip files, but you can use the software that the other two posters recommended to add the unzip functionality to your device. Then you can unzip the file and install the software.

i did that but there .exe files and they say they cant be downloaded

You probably need to download the file to your computer, unzip it there, then select the file on your computer. An installation wizard will prompt you through the installation to your pocket pc. If your pocket pc is connected to your computer and ActiveSync is running the software will be installed to the pocket pc. If the pocket pc is not connected to your computer, the installation wizard will set everything up to install to your pocket pc the next time it is connected to your computer.

Some firewalls block .exe files.
