Password storage program suggestions

I need a way to store the zillion passwords I need to remember. It must be something that stores them in an encrypted file and ideally will sync with my desktop.

Any suggestions? Freeware is ideal but for something this important, not the primary driver in the decision

as a simple method for my numerous simple users, I have been training them to use the notes objects in outlook.

MOST people do not know or utilize notes
use pass phrases instead of words, and then you would be writing down a clue to the phrase instead of the password itself. Passphrase = "Go buccaneers", clue would be "red and pewter power"
name the note something innocous like "cat food"
do not put the name of the database with the password, just use some word as a clue to the resource... Like "Monopoly" for a financial DB
If it is a numeric password, try to format it like it is a phone number or SSN

little things like that, so that even if someone were to find the file and look at it, they wouldn't see:
Account DB - username - password

They'd see something like:
checking - usual - (876) 993-9021 , 9880
micro - mini me - my dogs have spots

I've been using SPB wallet with good results - although the other programs mentioned are also good. I would give each one a free trial. Pay attention to the encryption method (although all the latest programs use the strongest encryption) - still make sure whatever program you buy has the best encryption logarithm.

I use eWallet Pro myself and love it. Especially for all the other features like automobile, credit card, bank acct, phone, etc information. :approve:

The only problem I have with radimus' idea is that some sites don't allow you to pick your password and it would be hard to write a hint for a number/letter combination like 138br56. BTW - I've used the notes and Word documents (password protected) features to store passwords in the past.
